Martha Prior Ryan, LMT, CPMT OH, AZ, IL
Martha became interested in massage as a young girl. At the age of 10, Martha attended an outing and was introduced to massage as a healing art and science. It happened in Cincinnati in a neonatal intensive care unit. After seeing the babies hooked to needles and monitors, a woman described the nurturing aspect of touch and massage for these newborns. She explained that massage was a reassurance to these tiny infants and newborns that touch was not always going to hurt but that it could comfort and heal. At that moment a seed was planted.
Many years have passed since then but the seed finally began to flourish when Martha entered Columbus State Community College of Massage in 2003. In 2004, Martha graduated from the Columbus State Community College cum laude and subsequently passed the Ohio State Medical Board as a Licensed Massage Therapist. She begin an exciting and diversified career building her toolbox and modality experiences on which she currently relies. Her education, exploration into how energy works - in the body, in the mind and as a part of our spirit, partners with her intuition during each session. Most recently, in the fall of 2016, that childhood seed of interest grew into another opportunity when Martha was accepted as an intern at Nationwide Chidren's Hospital within the Pediatric Massage team. That experience has moved Martha to open her practice to teaching Infant Massage, offering Pediatric Massage and providing Relaxation Massage to all ages.
These many years have been blessed with many wonderful people who have been on Martha's treatment table and relaxation rooms. Throughout it all, the importance of listening to the client and understanding their needs for each session is the primary cornerstone of what Martha hopes to provide.
Martha loves keeping balance in her life by exploring nature and refueling in the outdoors. Take a moment and enjoy some of her favorite spots.
